Just as he did the weekend before in Las Vegas, William Byron took advantage of an Overtime restart to surge to the
victory in the United Rentals Work United 500 at Phoenix Raceway.
A late-race caution pushed the event past its scheduled distance and allowed the leaders to hit pit road. Byron’s crew
made a swift two-tire pit stop that allowed the No. 24 Valvoline Chevrolet Camaro to start on the front row alongside a
Hendrick Motorsports teammate. In a near repeat performance from the previous race, Byron sped past his stablemate
on the Overtime restart and held the field at bay to the checkers.
