Long before he became the driver of the No. 41 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing, Ryan Preece could be found on a short track working alongside his father, Jeff, on everything from Quarter Midgets, to Modifieds, and just about anything else that Ryan was able to race. Jeff Preece was a driver himself before Ryan got bitten by the racing bug. From there, Jeff was the crew chief for many of Ryan’s short track successes and the family-owned race cars went to Victory Lane numerous times throughout New England and beyond.
In the 2023 edition of the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® at Darlington, Ryan Preece honored his father’s dedication with a special paint scheme on the No. 41 United Rentals Ford. Preece’s car turned back the clock to a livery that Jeff Preece raced with before Ryan became a NASCAR® star.
