NASCAR Camping World Truck SeriesTM driver Akinori Ogata honored fellow Japanese
racer Kenji Momota with a throwback No. 34 Toyota Tundra at Darlington Raceway in
May.
Ogata, a native of Kanagawa, Japan, piloted a Kyowa Industrial-backed No. 34 ride that
sported the same paint scheme Momota ran in his only NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series start in 1995. With that start at Phoenix, Momota became the first Japanese
driver to compete in a NASCAR® event.
